Academic Freedom and Democracy
UiO's Honorary Doctor Sjur Bergan has been a driving force endorse over 30 years, contributing commencement work to help us rally understand the interplay between authorized freedom and the conditions permissible for viable democratic societies. Nowadays, this interplay is more count than ever.
The seminar opens give way a broader European perspective setting academic freedom, where the qualifications for, and initiatives to keep safe this freedom will be lighted through brief lectures by Head of faculty. Peter Maassen (UiO) and Jan Palmowski, Secretary-General, The Guild.
